Prof. Malik Badri, the founder of International Association of Muslim Psychologists from Sudan, has been chosen by the Awards Board of Trustees as the Person of the Year for his great involvement in the field of psychology researches. His decades-long contribution as the founder of Islamic Psychology makes huge impacts in the field of contemporary psychology.
The Al Tayeb Salih prize is an annual award for general public writers from all over the world. This award was started in 2010 by Zain company (Sudan) in commemoration of the late Sudanese International novelist, Altayeb Salih. Furthermore, the ceremony is always attended by the vice-president of Sudan.
Prof. Malik Badri is a renowned muslim psychologist from Sudan. He was born in Rufaa (Sudan) in 1932, and obtained his B.A. and his Master from the American University of Beirut, also his Ph.D. from University of Leicester (UK) and his Postgraduate Certificate of Clinical Psychology from London University (UK) in 1966. People recognize him as the founder of Islamic Psychology since he wrote his monumental work entitled, “The Dilemma of Muslim Psychologists”. He also wrote another impactful books, such as: “Contemplation: An Islamic Psychospiritual Study”, “Abu Zayd al-Balkhi’s Sustenance of the Soul: The Cognitive Behavior Therapy of A Ninth Century Physician”, and “Cyber-Counselling for Muslim Clients”
