The president of International Association of Muslim Psychologists, Dr. Bagus Riyono, signed an agreement with the head of Islamic Psychology Program of Faculty of Ushuluddin and Dakwah of Surakarta State Islamic Institute (Indonesia), Dr. Moh. Abdul Kholiq Hasan, M.A., M.Ed. on August 30th, 2019. This agreement is based on mutual intents to support each other in the development of Islamic Psychology in Indonesia. They agreed to hold cooperation on conference, research, teachings, and curriculum development of Islamic Psychology in further collaboration.
Recently, Surakarta State Islamic Institute has been one of the few universities in Indonesia that offer Islamic Psychology programs for an undergraduate study. This agreement might be a good start to develop Islamic Psychology as a curriculum to accomodate students interests in learning Islamic Psychology broadly, and in developing psychology in the perspective of Islam.
