Mission of Hope hosted Australian Muslim Mental Health Conference in November 28th – 29th, 2019. This two days conference is supported by International Association of Muslim Psychologists, Psychology from an Islamic Perspective Interest Group, Muslim Social Workers Network, and the Sydney Muslim Mental Health Network. This program focused on the application of evidence-based therapies with the diverse Muslim populations across Australia. The participants learned and shared knowledges in enhancing the practices and applications for addressing the issues of mental health with Muslim groups and populations.
This conference served an opportunity for psychologists, clinicians, and mental health workers to deeply understand about the Muslim mental health issues in Australia. This meeting also showcased many case studies, the therapeutic treatments and mental health discourse within Muslim community. Speakers in this conference were Dr. Bagus Riyono as the President of International Association of Muslim Psychologists, Nasreen Hanifi, Dr. Ghassan Eltatary, Shehzi Yusaf, Nooria Mehraby, Monique Toohey, Ola El-Hassan, Abdul Saad, Dr. Yaser Mohammad, and Dr. Hanan Dover.
